MTV Names THE DARK KNIGHT RISES As Their Top Movie Of 2012

the_dark_knight_rises_official-wideOver at MTV News they posted up their top 10 best movies of 2012 . Of the top 10 “The Dark Knight Rises” was rated number 1 .

How do you follow up one of the best comic book-inspired films of all time anchored by an immediately iconic performance? You go bigger. You raise the stakes. And you put an exclamation point on the end of it. That’s what Christopher Nolan did to close out his awe-inspiring take on the legend of Batman in “The Dark Knight Rises,” and it’s why it’s our favorite film of 2012. From Tom Hardy’s hypnotic take on Bane (a character generally dismissed as second-tier in the Batman canon) to Anne Hathaway somehow living up to and perhaps exceeding Michelle Pfeiffer’s portrayal in “Batman Returns,” Nolan made brilliant choice after brilliant choice. And then there are the final 20 minutes, a skillfully edited sequence of escalating action and emotion that gave us all goose bumps. Bruce Wayne’s story is over. But the Batman will live forever, and so will this film. — Josh Horowitz

I’m shocked with all the success The Avengers had that they put this as their number 5 . I guess that just proves when it comes down to it Batman is the best . How would you have rated this year’s movies ?

I'm a BIG Batman fan. Back in the day I would write scripts and get my friends together to make Batman movies. From real Batman suits to a wide collection of Batman stuff from over the years I have never have grown up when it comes to Batman. I go to Comic cons and dress up in full Batman (Nashville's Dark Knight) gear and hang out with fellow comic fans and take pictures. Hanging out with friends is always a blasty blast when they can find the time or when I can. I'm a big movie buff or at least a little buff lol. I love the extreme activities. White water rafting, playing paintball, just about anything I can get into. I have been in a few different kinds of Martial arts. Sometimes I go hunting on the family farm but its rare.
