Zack Snyder Wants to Return to Detroit for Future DC Movies

You’ve heard, I’m sure (if you’ve been catching my “This Week on the BvS Set”), that Zack Snyder and his crew have been toiling away on the big follow-up to Man of Steel, Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice. I’m sure you’ve also heard that they’ve been filming primarily in Detroit, Michigan. Although recently, they’ve been jumping all over Michigan and seemingly appearing in Chicago overnight.

Apparently, there was a lot of hearsay going around about how pleased Snyder and co. have been with Detroit. I’ve heard it mentioned all over the place by various crew members as their time in Michigan started to wind down. Well, it looks like Snyder is so pleased with Detroit that he hopes to return to Detroit with future DC movies.

A local news station managed to nab an interview with the director on location and in it, Snyder seems particularly enthusiastic about returning. The news station took this response as an official word of his return. However, if you listen, you’ll realize that Snyder is careful not to inject any certainty into his statement by saying, “It’s my hope that we can come back…” Granted, Snyder has been appointed godfather to the universe similar to Joss Whedon is to Phase 2 of the Marvel Cinematic universe, so it’s not a far-fetched inference to make by the news station, but we all know that he’s not calling the shots.

Regardless, his desire to return should be a big push in bringing back any DC movies, likely the upcoming solo Batman movies, as Snyder mentions establishing important locations in Detroit… Gotham, yo!
