Actress Christina Wren will reprise her role as Major Carrie Farris, a character who appeared via a Man of Steel cameo; she will reappear in Batman v. Superman in 2016, and will have a role larger than a cameo.
Here’s what Christina Wren said about reprising her role in a larger capacity:
So there’s some gossip; this has not been officially confirmed with me at all. But my character’s name is Carrie Farris; there’s a character named Carol Ferris who’s the Green Lantern’s girlfriend and turns into this superhero, Star Sapphire. But I have no idea if that’s the plan; they’re not even slated to do a Green Lantern film for several years.
Considering the fact the Dawn of Justice is the subtitle for the upcoming Batman v. Superman film, one could easily infer that the Star Sapphire character might appear onscreen at some point in the future, since Green Lantern is affiliated with Justice League, and Carol Ferris is his girlfriend (in addition to the consideration of future Justice league and Green Lantern films); however, one should also consider whether the similarity between the two names “Carrie Farris” and “Carol Ferris” signifies the implication that the two characters are the same person. If the similarity was intentionally crafted with the purpose of implying that Carrie is Carol, then one could reasonably assume that Christina Wren could possibly portray Green Lantern’s girlfriend and Star Sapphire in future Justice League and Green Lantern films. But hey, who really knows, anyway?
Regardless of all of that, here’s what Christina Wren could say about Batman v. Superman:
I can tell you that I think it’s going to be badass! They’re just such an awesome team. The bits that I was on set for look fantastic; everyone in it is fantastic. It’s exciting; it’s high-energy; it’s high-action. They are addressing all of the things that they set up in “Man of Steel.”
