First Look at Michael Chiklis in ‘Gotham’ Season 2

EW has our first look at Michael Chiklis in the upcoming season of Gotham. The actor is no stranger to both comic book roles and police procedurals, having done the former in two Fantastic Four movies and the latter in FX’s hit series The Shield. He’ll apparently be channeling those energies much more than Ben Grimm, though, as his character Nathaniel Barnes is described as a “law and order zealot who lands on the GCPD like a tornado, ripping out the dead wood of Gotham’s police force.”

The character could present an interesting dynamic as he sounds very similar to where Jim Gordon was when he first arrived in Gotham. Now, of course, things have changed a bit. Even though Gordon believes in law and order, he found himself constantly working outside the system and bending if not outright breaking the rules several times during the show’s first season.

Gotham season two will premiere Monday, September 21st at 8pm.
