Zack Snyder Speaks on ‘BvS’ and DCEU at Bob Kane Walk of Fame Ceremony

A couple weeks back, it was announced that Bob Kane, the credited creator of Batman, would be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. At the ceremony, it was revealed that DC Comics artist and co-publisher Jim Lee and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice director Zack Snyder would be in attendance.

The ceremony was conducted on October 21st and during the event, Snyder used the opportunity to honor Kane, but also plug his upcoming movie and praise Batfleck. He begins the entire speech with how he had to come up with a suit with his costume designer, Michael Wilkinson, he pushes forward to the first camera test of Ben Affleck in the iconic cape and cowl. He describes Batfleck as the “perfect personification of the Batman I had in my mind.” He then begins to nonsensically tie it into Bob Kane.

Check out the video below:

411 Mania managed to snag an interview with him at the event. You can check out the entire interview here, but let me just highlight the essential stuff. When asked about a new trailer, he mentions that he believes a new trailer should be coming soon. He also talks a little about the new Batmobile, of which he seems particularly proud.

I believe, however, that the most important thing we can gather from the interview is that when asked about bringing the Trinity together, he seems fixed on the idea on creating a universe in which it makes sense for the Justice League to exist.

He says,

“Listen. I want to — we’re working toward Justice League. Part of the thing I really want to create is the possibility of a world where they could exist together. I think up to this point, it’s been difficult to suggest a world where Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman and others could exist in the same universe. That was one of the things I really wanted to try and get at. Not to mention, the amazing opportunity to bring those characters and have those characters tell an important story, their own story, within the confines of a film.”

It seems like he’s all-in on the DC Extended Universe here.
