‘The Walking Dead’s’ Lauren Cohan Cast as Martha Wayne in ‘Batman v Superman’

It’s interesting to see that we’re still getting casting news despite being just 2 months away from the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. We know so much about the flick, but we somehow know so little. Based on certain set photos during principal photography, we gathered that we were at least getting one flashback involving the death of the Waynes. Photos and video of a couple and a young boy, dressed in formal attire, were seen walking out of a movie theatre that was showing The Mask of Zorro.

Some time last year, we got hints of Jeffrey Dean Morgan playing the good doctor, Thomas Wayne. And seven months later, we now have news of his significant other, Martha. Television fans rejoice, for it looks like Lauren Cohan of The Walking Dead will be playing Martha in the upcoming historic film.

IMDB, a massive online database featuring information regarding all things movies, broke on Twitter that Lauren Cohan was added to the cast list as Martha Wayne. Now, any user can contribute to IMDB, causing many false leads in the past. However, it was pretty much confirmed later when Cohan, herself, retweeted the news.

So that’s the original tweet. If you don’t feel like doing a bit of digging, allow me to do the work for you as your faithful journalist.

See that little stamp at the top left, that says “Lauren Cohan Retweeted,” confirming this news.

With these names,  I wonder how brief the flashback(s) will be.

What do you think? Is Lauren Cohan a great choice for Martha? Or will she be underutilized and relegated to simply a cameo?
