Review Roundup: Earth 2: Society #15

earth 2 society 15

Writer: Dan Abnett

Artists: Tony Harris, Wade Von Grawbadger, Angel Hernandez

This month, the heroes of Earth 2 continue to battle the Ultra-Humanite for control of the Pandora Casket, an Amazonian artifact that may decide the fate of the world. Aside from that, expect to see Dick Grayson/Batman have a reunion with his son that probably wasn’t as he imagined it would be, as well as some powerful stuff with Alan Scott.

Although Dan Abnett once again does a stellar job when it comes to scripting, the art is a bit uneven, as there is a hard transition between artists only eight pages in. Fortunately, the bulk of the issue is handled by Angel Hernandez, who seems like a better fit for the material.

Expect a big twist in the final pages along with some possible deaths (a lot of stuff goes down rather quickly, so I guess we’ll know for sure who made it out alive next month). No matter what the setting may be, pretty much anything involving the Earth 2 cast of characters makes for a compelling read, so this installment earns my stamp of approval.

Considering that this week’s Review Roundup is a bit light, I will remind you all to join us for the next episode of A Podcast For All Seasons later this month. In it, we will discuss the latest round of Rebirth titles to launch this month, including All-Star Batman, Harley Quinn, Suicide Squad, Superwoman, Supergirl, Deathstroke, and Blue Beetle, as well as other top DC titles. Plus, you will get our oral review of the Suicide Squad movie.
