Hans Zimmer Performed ‘The Dark Knight’ Score at Coachella

At this past weekend’s Coachella Music Festival, Hans Zimmer treated fans of The Dark Knight trilogy to a live rock performance of the films’ score.

Fans of Zimmer’s musical work will instantly recognize his score from The Dark Knight.  It is considered to be one of the most memorable soundtracks in recent memory, with its pulsating beats and strong brass notes. On the 2008 film,  Zimmer experimented with his sound on the Joker’s Theme. The theme consisted of only two notes. The long notes created an unnerving, creepy vibe that was perfect for Heath Ledger’s take on the character.

Hans Zimmer’s Career

Zimmer is a frequent musical collaborator of  Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan. Beyond The Dark Knight, he composed other memorable movie scores, like Inception and The Lion King.  Up next for Zimmer is scoring Nolan’s next movie Dunkirk. Check out the video below of his performance at Coachella 2017.
