‘Dark Nights: Metal’ Heats Up – DC Releases Four New Covers

With the release of the huge Batman-centric crossover, Dark Nights: Metal, creeping ever closer, DC’s media machine is on overdrive. To go with the incredible covers we’ve already seen for the crossover books; Batman: The Red Death, and Batman: The Murder Machine from Jason Fabok, DC Entertainment have sent out a press release with four variant covers, for the second issue of the main event. These feature art from some of comics’ finest talents.

This series is looking to be as hot as the molten metal it evokes. Scenes of evil Batmen, with the powers and abilities of the entire Justice League are terrifying in and of themselves. When we see images of heroes under fire, and Green Lantern missing an arm, the stakes are raised even higher.

The Forge Has Been Lit, The Ore Has Been Cast

The press release reads:

Ahead of the much-anticipated blockbuster release of Dark Nights: Metal #1 on August 16, DC reveals new variant covers for Dark Nights: Metal #2 from Andy Kubert,  John Romita, Jr. & Jim Lee, which completes the quartet of covers for the issue.
In Dark Nights: Metal #2, Superman and Wonder Woman hunt for a missing ally, and Batman investigates a mystery spanning centuries. When The Dark Knight discovers a foe greater than the Justice League could imagine, will Earth’s heroes be ready? Dark Nights: Metal #2 is written by Scott Snyder with art and main cover by Greg Capullo, Jonathan Glapion & FCO Plascencia.

The preludes; Dark Days: The Forge and Dark Days: The Casting have set the tone for what looks to be one of the most thrilling comics events of the last few years. Our Batman is scary enough, an army of super-powered Batmen is the stuff of nightmares!

August 16th cannot get here soon enough!
