Did ‘Gotham’ Give Us A First Glance At Harley Quinn?

Gotham is giving us a world of iconic villain characters. The Penguin (Robin Taylor), Ra’s al Ghul (Alexander Siddig), Butch (Drew Powell), Poison Ivy (Maggie Geha and Peyton List), and even Hugo Strange. For the final season of Gotha, we’re in a world of beautiful pain.

NYCC 2018 brought us some new information this weekend from producer John Stephens. He revealed that the character Jeremiah Valeska is going to be in a not-so-healthy relationship during season 5. It was also noted that she is “deranged” and dresses in a colorful fashion. This sounds horribly and wonderfully familiar.

Cameron Monaghan spoke of his fictional girlfriend and his relevance in season 5.

It was interesting in the last season,” Monaghan said of his character. “His plan succeeded. He destroyed Gotham. He marooned it. He created his maze and his image and all this stuff, which is rare for any villain to succeed. So I think that he’s enjoying that he’s king of the roost and he’s sort of working within the shadows with a lot of respect and he’s sort of the big boogeyman in the city right now. I think he’s enjoying that and it’s giving him a sense of ego and hubris. He has got a girlfriend now and he’s more successful than he’s ever been.”

And so during the season 5 promo for Gotham, Francesca Root-Dodson took Instagram and shared a photo of herself in the final season. She carries familiar pale-faced make-up, and calls out to Gotham city, with a “Hiya, Gotham <3”. There has been no official confirmation, but the make-up certainly says a 1000 words.
