‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ Surpassed In Domestic Box Office By Aquaman

You thought Aquaman was done breaking records and surpassing it’s predecessors?  You thought wrong! Globally, Aquaman has broken every record set by DC productions, grossing a total of $1.13 billion. Domestically however, Aquaman still has films to beat. Now it has one less, recently overtaking Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Arguably the two most recognisable superheroes went head-to-head in DC’s 2016 production, Batman v Superman. This was bound to draw attention and the North American box office shows that, with the film taking in $330.3 million. Aquaman has now taken in $331.3 million, building up momentum over time, and is sure to break more records before it’s done.

A few years back, no one would have even suggested an Aquaman movie would beat out a movie about DC’s top two heroes.

However, with a solo title in the works, it’s possible The Dark Knight could take the top spot, once again.
