Mortal Kombat 11 has unveiled its DLC characters, which include the Joker.
The hyper-violent video game franchise has released an announcement video featuring all of its downloadable, playable characters. Among them is MK‘s Shang Tsung, Nightwolf, and Sindel. However, the fun of Mortal Kombat’s DLC characters is when they get ones from other franchises. MK 11‘s DLC characters also include Spawn, the Terminator, and the Joker.

The Joker’s Look
The Joker’s inclusion is causing a minor social media controversy. His look and design is unusually handsome, compared to modern interpretations of the Clown Prince of Crime. To be totally fair, it is a little odd to see a handsome Joker with a suave haircut. Like, he doesn’t even have the Jim Aparo-style “devil-horn” wavy hair.
Compared to Heath Ledger’s greasy, grunge Joker or Greg Capullo’s faceless Joker, MK 11’s Joker is a good-looking dude. One wonders why Mortal Kombat 11 didn’t just update the character model from the Injustice games. Then again, perhaps it’s for the best that Joker looks nice for a change, as more recent designs for the character Joker seem to have just gotten more and more grotesque. It’s refreshing to see a normal-looking guy… strange clown makeup notwithstanding.
The Joker will arrive for DLC on January 28, 2020.
