Batwoman star Ruby Rose has revealed that she suffered a stunt injury that almost left her paralyzed.
On Instagram, the actress discussed her near-death injury and posted a video of her in surgery. Rose revealed that the injury, which occured on the set of Batwoman gave her two herniated spinal discs, which came dangerously close to leaving her paralyzed. The star also reported that she was in constant pain to the point where she could not feel her arms.
Doctors performed emergency surgery on Rose, and her crew filmed the entire spinal procedure. That’s right, people can see Rose’s bare spine. So, warning to our more squeamish readers. The following video is graphic.
Rose’s Recovery
Fortunately, Rose seems to be doing fine now, as the stunt injury occurred months ago. In fact, the actor struggled with keeping the injury and the surgery a secret for a long time. In an interview with Buzzfeed News, Rose talked about why now is the time to talk about her injury.
I didn’t tell anyone for a long time because I didn’t want to distract from the show… I didn’t want to talk about it and be like, “Hey, I did this great surgery and it’s great” — and then have it [fail] and be like, “Just kidding, it didn’t work out, guys.”

Batwoman will premiere on October 6 on the CW.
