DC Debuts ‘The Oracle Code’ Comic Book Trailer

Article by Eric Lee

DC Comics have released a trailer for The Oracle Code, a graphic novel starring Barbara Gordon, but not as Batgirl… as Oracle.

The graphic novel follows Barbara as a wheelchair-bound hero as she investigates a string of mysterious disappearances. It is a part of DC’s Young Adult line of graphic novels that tell out-of-continuity stories.

Marieke Nijkamp and Manuel Preitano are the creators behind the graphic novel. Nijakamp is the New York Times bestselling author of This is Where It Ends. She is also the editor of the anthology Unbroken: 13 Stories Starring Disabled Teens. Furthermore, she is the co-founder of We Need Diverse Books, a nonprofit organization that promotes diversity in children’s literature.

Nijakamp had this to say about Barbara as Oracle.

The Oracle Code is my love letter to Barbara Gordon, to Oracle. It’s a book for everyone who’s ever felt like the puzzle pieces don’t quite fit, whether they’re in a creepy Arkham institute or simply figuring out themselves. And it’s for every disabled reader who knows they can be a hero too.”

The Oracle Code hits stores on March 10.
